"I have A Dream Foundation", Boulder County - Board Member
The mission of the "I Have a Dream" program is to motivate and empower children from low-income communities to reach their education and career goals by providing a long-term intervention program of mentoring, tutoring, and cultural enrichment. Upon graduation from high school, each Dreamer is eligible to receive a four-year tuition-assistance scholarship for college or vocational school.
Boulder Chamber - Community Affairs Council
The nonprofit Boulder Chamber is the region’s flagship business advocacy and support organization. With more than 110 years of dedicated service to our members and the Boulder community, the Boulder Chamber’s innovative programs help local businesses succeed while sustaining an economy that preserves Boulder’s high quality of life, including its environmental and cultural assets. Together with its member businesses, the Boulder Chamber is building a smarter, more vibrant economy – sustaining Boulder’s position as a global capital of innovation and a thriving center of economic vitality.
Downtown Boulder Foundation - Board Member
The Downtown Boulder Foundation is a charitable 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to maintaining downtown Boulder as the heart and soul of our community. DNF's staff and volunteers produce over two dozen annual events focused on arts, culture, family entertainment and supporting local business. From fine arts to free concerts on the Pearl Street Mall, DBF events draw nearly 250,000 people downtown every year. DBF also supports other community events that enhance downtown including the Boulder International Film Festival, the Pearl Street Stampedes and the Adventure Film Festival.
ULI, the Urban Land Institute, is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit research and education organization supported by its members. Founded in 1936, ULI now has almost 40,000 members worldwide, representing the entire spectrum of land use and real estate development disciplines working in private enterprise and public service. A multidisciplinary real estate forum, ULI facilitates an open exchange of ideas, information, and experience among industry leaders and policy makers dedicated to creating better places.
The Planning Board reviews and approves certain site and use review applications, studies long-range planning matters including the Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan and makes recommendations to City Council. It also serves as an advisory board to City Council on applications for annexation and rezoning.
