Boulder County, through Forward Together Safely - the County’s COVID-19 response and recovery team - has obtained a CARES grant to study the impact of COVID-19 on underserved communities. Trestle is working with Marina LaGrave of CLACE to do community outreach to gather qualitative data and stories about how Latinx community members have been impacted by the pandemic, how individuals/households access support and services (before the pandemic and today), what the struggles and barriers are, and how the County can best serve these communities.

Partnering with incredible Latinx community leaders and activists who serve as interview facilitators, including program directors from the I Have a Dream Foundation of Boulder County, 100+ members of the Latinx community are being interviewed to share their experiences relating to the COVID-19 pandemic, and talk about deeply personal issues such as their physical and mental health, their employment and financial situations, and their access to human services such as childcare, housing, technology, public assistance.

The results of this impact study will be shared with the Forward Together Safely Advisory Board and help identify barriers in accessing County services and gaps in those services.

This is a 2-month fast-track project that will end on December 30, 2020.
