Challenge

Desiring to create a unique mixed-use development on the Gunbarrel community of Boulder, East View required assistance and guidance with understanding the City of Boulder's entitlement process, the City triggers for various review types, and cost implications.

Approach

Trestle led East View through a concept entitlement phase for a mixed-use community in the Gunbarrel Community of Boulder. Teaming up with STOK, and Grimshaw Architects, Mockingbird in Fabulous Gunbarrel Green will be a unique community asset for all of Boulder. Following the design principles of environmental health + wellness; meaningful community engagement + informed responsive design; innovation-driven performance + sustainable building practices; and functional, assimilated landscaping + water management, our team strives to pioneer a timeless community hub that supports the needs of the community. 

Result

The project was successfully entitled at the concept plan level by the City’s Planning Board.
